Hello ^_^

I just thought i'd update my journal. I've forgotten all the randomness i planned to post (whee) so this is just a "nothing much" update.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Things have been a little busy, so sorry for the lack of updates. :icondocbaghead: and I will probably not be going to Fanime this year as we hopped, however we are still offering cheap commissions (see either of our previous journal entrys) ^_^  *shakes fist at the sky* one day button maker! one day! ^_^

So yeah... things will probably be slow between updates. Hopefully i'll be able to put some stuff up in a week or so.

Sorry to be perpetully behind in thanking for favorites and comments and stuff! Hope you all know i am thankful. Thank you ^_^'

Hellos ^_^

XD I'll have to look into that... I've never heard of Sacanime.... *bounds off to Google*

hmmm... *ponders* I can't seem to find if they have an artist's ally type set up. Too bad the table isn't cheaper or i'd be really tempted ^____^ As i don't sell fanart (at least not predone stuff XD) its a little weird selling things. Total hit or miss. A $200 gamble i don't think i can take at this time, sorry ;_; *hugs*

Cause its kinda depressing... *goes down checklist* No fanart, no dragons/fantasy animals, no cosplay stuff.... and no buttons ( XD )... so yeah, pretty much all i have right now are a few 'staple sketchbooks' which i sold at Akon 2 (3? o_o';) years ago, and prints of stuff you see here. Oh, and commissions. I like doing those ^__^ But yeah *sigh* even at Akon (which is a pretty big con) i only made around $200. I chalk it up to my not drawing all cute XD ... yeaaaah (right...) XD one day i'll get back into going to cons. I like too. I like sitting and saying hi to people and making them happy ^__^ or trying really hard not to make a weird face when someone REALLY freaky comes by and starts telling you random RANDOM things that make no sence ;___; (or sticks their baby, who is WAY too young to be somewhere with a billion strangers full of germs, ONTOP of my prints XO and still don't buy anything XD )

*rambles* Sorry, i should so be asleep XD

And be sure to check up on the P thing ^___^ i think stuff is going pretty well ^_~

I hope you have fun though!

Unfortunately its a cost thing. XP (boo) Going to Fanime involved a lot of sunk cost that if I didn't make back, would make VERY hard to go to SDCC (comic-con), where i really want to do a few portfolio reviews.

So really, it just came down to which i could do... Hopefully next year i will be able to get a button maker and go.

I saw you just got both of yours (yay for you! ^__^) i bet that will be a lot of fun. I've only ever made one button before and it was out of glossy cardstock from a misprinted picture. *loves her button* XD but i would think a good matte paper would work? Double glossy (the plastic cover and paper) seem to be a bit overkill XP but the template and stuff would be really nice, thank you so much for the offer!

*trys to think if she has any tips* ummm... look into places like Costco (or equivalent place that does cheeper printing then an office supply store) They tend to have pretty decent prices and cost a whole lot less then printing at home ^_^ Really nice if you sell prints of your photos too. *rambles* I've been worlds happier since i found they use a photo printer instead of a document one (like Kinkos...) it doesn't mess my colors up and costs less. x_x' i so can't wait to get my portfolio revamped so i can reprint it XD

aaaand with that i shall stop talking X3

Thank you again ^__^ i hope you are able to sell many buttons!

Ah, yeah, that's more or less the same reason I didn't go to Sakuracon this year, it just gets expensive! If it's a chance of only getting to do one, aim for the one you REALLY want to hit.

The button makers are just a lot of fun, I've actually not sold a one yet, and I really don't care too much. Just thought I'd toss that one out because I could, mostly I have them for the sole purpose of making myself and my friends random buttons as the mood strikes me. XD You're right about the glossy paper, it is a bit of overkill in terms of surface, but it prints with a very nice high contrast. I've actually abandoned the glossy brochure paper, though, it was not drying adequately in the time the printer allowed between head passes, so I was losing about two buttons on each sheet to having smears. I've gone to using a high-quality thin matte photo paper, I'd have to check the package for who it's by. It's not QUITE as nicely contrasty as the glossy, but it prints quite nicely, and it dries fast enough to avoid smearing.

When you get around to getting yours, just drop me an Email and I'll toss the templates your way! They're nothing you can't make easily yourself, and depending on what circle cutter you use you'll have to tweak them for your own use anyway, but it should at least give you some ideas to play with. They've worked well for me so far. Also, you'll want to download the Picture Package addon for Photoshop, it makes printing full sheets of a button MUCH easier than trying to do all the copy-paste work yourself.

Aww, why not? I have both a 1" and 2.25" button maker, and they're awesome fun. When you get around to getting one, let me know and I'll send you the .psd templates I use for sizing and exact info on what paper types I've found to work the best. :)
