Face Sketches 001

Hope you all are having a good year ^_^

Sorry about not uploading anything for a long time (and then to upload with this XP) Keeping on my 'upload random stuff' goal, here are some random mask/head ideas. I'll be uploading more in the next few days probably, but all the tiny ones fit together pretty well so here you go! Everything is really rough... basically like drawing buckshot, maybe one or two will catch my (or your) fancy and I'll work on them farther ^___^ whee.

I have some strange mad on for CFX's mask competition, so i play around with mask designs a lot. I also would love to make some kind of hard cast mask, as opposed to the latex ones they do (as really, i have no skill/time/money to make soft ones) *rambles* so yeah these are a mix of those ideas. So it would all have to line p with a normal person's mouth/eyes/ears/nose.

1. Just a fun face, thought it looked pretty.

2. Just playing with some large ears.

3. a fuzzy batty thing. Rawr.

4. Old elfy thing.

5 a darker/odder elf/goblin. bald on top but with fancy hanging hair.

6. gill/feathers i guess, didn't even finish it on the other side XP

7. a fatter fellow with eyes all over, especially in the double chin.

8. a fellow with horns, kinda like a victory crown. big ears and fun hair ^_^

9. Satyr like face I guess. #10 shows the horns curling behind. I like this one.

10. horns that follow the back of the head and twist.

11.-14. a Six horned skull beast. This one I like and look forward to playing with more ^_^ The middle horns would be ears like the dragon mask design i did.

15. a pile of face skins merged together. The main one would look a little unnatural, like some creature had sewn together a human suit or something.

16. playing with leafy points. just a horned fellow. ^_^

17. I like playing with ideas that have an odd use of hair. Since it is always so pricy to use (and i am cheap ~_~') This one is very loosely jellyfish like. The hair would hang out in little tendrils.

18. a kitty XD whee...

19. and old horned fellow. I was going to pull in more of the shrinking skin of decay on him, but didn't. He has a mustache which I thought would be fun. Also he has twirly ears XD I like to draw those but never seem to scan anything I do with them o_o'

20. This one is so tiny and blurry but I like it. The top of his head merges into drooped deer like ears and generic horns. the horns twist and curl up with a feathered/cut edge to mimmic the fuzz on the ears. I could see playing with this design a little more, since I did it such a disservice here -_-'

21. more big ears.

22.-24. Playing with a snakelike face. I love snakes, they are tricky to draw, let alone fit on a human head.

25. anglerfish like skull thing... plus a hair from my scanner. yay XP

26. some kind of armored elf. I originally planned for the armor stuff to be a tree growing in and out of his skin... but just drew it normal and wrote a note to myself about it XP

27. Teethy beast ^_^

28. a horselike face. Horses are another tricky thing...

29. a multi eyed sea monster. lots of beardy feelers ^_^

30-31. Another one I like, an almost skeletal base with a leather birdlike mask. I'd like to play around with this one more.

32. This one doesn't really show well, but is supposed to be a rotting/melting face with teeth hanging and melting out of the mouth like a weird beard.

33. just playing with scale laying ideas.

34. Another one I like ^_^ I try to anchor horns against the head or other supports so they cast easier/don't weigh as much. So that is why a lot of these designs are so compact. This one has horns merging from the skin gently. With long hair which is always fun ^_^ His ears layer around the top of the horn and under the bottom curve.

35. I've been working on a Kappa thing, so I gave it a shot as a mask. gave this fellow a beard and didn't put the top hair one, but I thought he had a fun face ^__^

36. Playing with hair.

37. a torn up face, but was going to be done like it was jewelry. I doesn't show here at all. sorry.

38. a strong browed lady with twisty 'feathered' ears ^_^

39. an older face with long earlobes. I liked the shape of this one for a quick sketch, but didn't really do much with it yet.

40. just and elf.

41. an odd elf in a skull hat thing. I like putting skulls on my guys as hats... I'm sure i'm not the only one XD

42. a horse bit gagged creature. Wearing a dead bird as a mask. I'd like to play with this one more.

43. Something I wouldn't normally set out to do XD but I was just having fun. Kinda like an odd vampire I guess ^_^

44. a dog headed thing... mmmyep.

45. kitty again XD This one would be one that didn't fit a person exactly matched up, their chin would have to actually hide in the neck fuzzies.

46. a simple split faced fellow, he looks kinda messed up but fun XD I don't know why but i like him.

47. dragon/dinosaur ^__^ rawr!

48. (unnumbered) oops missed a number. this long eared cat faced fellow would be more fun to paint on. the 'mask' part would be covered in gold leaf (or fake gold leaf, whatever) so you could see parts of the creatures normal skin peaking out... plus little gem bits or whatnot. yeah....
